阿(A) beginning - 吽(UN) end

The concept of beginning and end of all things in life manifests in the interplay of breaths (A for exhale, UN for inhale) and in circulation to the right (yang) and the left (ying). A logogram in motion. Is it a moebius circle?

The exploration of what lies between 阿-and-吽 re(in)spires.

A performance created out of a collaborative workshop with Butoh dancer Yuko Kaseki and guests from Japan, performance artist Miho Tsujii and calligraphy artist Kanako Sehara, joined by workshop participants.

阿（A）— はじまり ／ 吽（UN）— おわり
生のあらゆるものに宿る「始まり」と「終わり」という概念は、
呼吸の往還（阿＝吐く息、吽＝吸う息）、
そして右（陽）と左（陰）への循環の相互作用として顕在化する。
それは、運動するロゴグラムであり、
メビウスの輪なのだろうか。
阿と吽の「あいだ」に横たわるものの探究が、
re(in)spiration を呼び覚ます。
本作《KOTOHOGI 阿吽 A-UN》は、「阿（はじまり）」と「吽（おわり）」という東アジア的身体観・宇宙観を基軸に、
呼吸（阿＝吐く息／吽＝吸う息）および陰陽の循環運動を、
身体・声・書の複合的実践として探究するパフォーマンス作品である。
「始まり」と「終わり」は固定された点ではなく、
相互に反転し、循環し続けるプロセスとして捉えられる。
本作では、その運動体としての概念を、
身体表現・空間・時間の中で立ち上げることを試みた。
本作は、ベルリン在住の舞踏家・カセキユウコ、
大阪在住のパフォーマンス・アーティスト・辻井美穂、
書家・瀬原加奈子によるコラボレーティブなワークショップから生まれたパフォーマンスである。
ワークショップ参加者たちとの共同制作によって構成された。
